Collective Improvisation: Conversation, Interaction and Direction in the Music of Ornette Coleman and Jason Rigby

This paper is a discussion and analysis of the recorded works of two saxophonist-composers who have greatly influenced me in both performance and composition. I attempt to contextualize their music as well as show how my compositions were affected by each artist.
