Recipe For Resurrection
Document
Recipe For Resurrection is a critical engagement with a dehumanizing archive of enslavement in which I use poetry to combat the visual and linguistic manifestations of anti-blackness in primary sources from Edgefield, South Carolina in the antebellum era. This thesis is also a mediation on what it means to be in the emotional wake of enslavement and how I understand that within the historical context provided by those archival documents and the forced passage of Africans across/through the Atlantic.
