After her sister leaves to start her own life, Elaine, a socially awkward, yet hard working political advertiser, must deal with her inability to connect with people and her past emotional trauma. That is, until she stumbles upon the teachings of a world famous guru named Goodwin Makosi, who’s writing and charisma pulls Elaine deeper and deeper into his world, ultimately resulting in her being put in charge of building a commune in northern California for his followers. Over the next two years, Elaine battles with intolerant townspeople, internal conflicts, and the stigma that comes with being in a cult, all to save the place and the man she loves so deeply.
