Needles and Pins

In the English village of Hollyhurst, fourteen year old Julia is lonely until she discovers Suzy Polyester: an enigmatic pop-star who wears PVC cowboy boots and has an unusual singing voice. The music spurs an infatuation with the singer and sparks an unlikely friendship with Minnie, Julia's former rival in choir. As the two girls become inseparable, smoking cigarettes and playing guitar, their friendship takes a tumultuous turn. Julia's conception of what it means to want and desire comes quickly into foggy light.
