Chandelier Triptych
Document
"Chandelier Triptych," a triptych of three essays explores the aesthetics of contemporary artists, from Kanye West to Tschabalala Self, from music to poetry to painting. These explorations seek to continue in opening theory/theories of a possible future(s) and, furthermore, seek to complicate theories that prove derivative of a twisted past. With an emphasis on sonic stretch, the break, and shapes of intimacy, ?Chandelier Triptych? moves with a composition by Tschabalala Self of the same name to burden the assumption of diaspora?s shackles in pursuit of a pleasure worth remembering.
