Abstract

This thesis examines integrated affordable housing in contemporary Los Angeles through the architecture of the Star Apartments. By looking at how housers, architects, and tenants relate to Star?s form, this thesis explores 1) The forces of urban production that influence both affordable housing and homelessness, and 2) the dynamics of personhood and perception that operate within these spaces.
