Face Values (a short film)

This is the screenplay to 'Face Values,' a short film that I wrote, directed, produced and edited over the course of this academic year as my thesis project. It is the story of a prominent contemporary artist struggling with his creative identity, and a young schoolgirl struggling to follow the rules. The film explores the tension between the pretentious world of modern art and the whimsical naiveté of youth by connecting the lives of these two characters. 'Face Values' was shot in various locations all over the state and features original art by over a dozen Wesleyan students and local artists. It was also the first thesis film to be produced by Wesleyan Eco-Film, a co-operative started by me and my team to encourage and make viable environmentally sound film production practices.
