Pro Patria
Document
Pro Patria is loosely based around the Patria disaster, in which a British transport ship in Palestine was bombed during World War Two by Zionist terrorists attempting to prevent the deportation of thousands of European Jewish refugees. Pro Patria follows Munya Mardor as he leaves behind his country town and joins Haganah in the city of Haifa. There, he is caught up in the growing turmoil over Jewish immigration and carries out the bombing of the Patria. Tragically, Munya's zeal proves to be his downfall when the bombing leads to the death of almost 300 of the very lives he was attempting to save.
