A geo-cultural analysis of hip hop culture and rap music that examines the inner-workings of local hip hop communities in order understand the centrality of place in the world of musical production as well as the mechanisms of (technological) globalization and cultural syncretism as they relate to the creation of overlapping/ co-constitutive and yet distinct soundscapes.
