Abstract

The intention of this thesis is to understand the meaningful counterpoint between sound design and film scoring. This is managed in a few ways. By exploring the conventions and practices that have developed alongside film, experimenting with the practical applications of said conventions, and examining what happens when said conventions are disrupted, a conclusion might be drawn about the way in which modern audiences have learned to listen to and consume film.
