Justice and Personhood: The Role of Nonpersons in John Rawls's Justice as Fairness

This thesis deals with the role of nonpersons in John Rawls's justice as fairness. It argues that the failure to account for nonpersons (such as nonhuman animals) is a serious defect in the political conception of justice as a whole.
