General Description

There are no designs that this object was created as a besamim; the object is not of a tower shape, and it has no flags. The dome-shaped box with a finial suggests, in fact, that it may be a betel nut box from India, or elsewhere in South or Southeast Asia. There is a very similar object, also identified as a betel nut box, that was auctioned on etsy.com (https://www.etsy.com/listing/104109239/antique-betel-nut-box-container-copper?ref=market), supposedly from India in the 20th century. It is hard to say for certainty, however, when this object was created.
